PostTask almost ready to go out of Beta!
Hey folks,
we are proud to tell you that we are almost ready to go out of the beta phase. During the last weeks we added a ton of cool stuff, which we would like to introduce you to:
- Statistics: In the magic box you now find a new tab called ‘Stats’. In it you find a rough outline about your accomplishments during the last seven days (today excluded). Also, there is a way to track your best and worst day, week and month. The formula by which we do the calculation is explained in the help section
- Tasklets: You notice in the box where you add a task (called “task adder”), that there is a new checkbox “Time”. If you leave that unchecked and associate a context with the task (by appending a colon and the first letter of the context to the task name; for example ‘:h’ for a context “Household”) it will be added to a separate box, underneath your tasklist. Tasklets are intended to be tasks that need to be done, but are not scheduled for a specific day yet. It’s good to use tasklets when you tend to have long tasklists. There will be a new list created for every context. Other than that, you can also drag and drop tasklets around to different contexts and sort them within their same context list. If that all sounds a little new and complex to you now, head on over to the Tasklet Help Page to read all about it.
- Work Orders: You can now set up work orders in PostTask, which is basically giving the tasks scheduled for today a specific order in which you will tackle them. Read about it here.
- All the help pages have been polished and a new ‘Tips’ tab is now in the magic box. It shows you our keyboard shortcuts in a much more human readable format (as a table).
- We have a new design, if you haven’t noticed yet. It’s much like the old one, but it was tweaked a lot. :]
- There is a new tab “Pulse” in the magic box. There we have the latest news on what we are currently working on PostTask-wise (yeah we don’t work all the time on PostTask). There are some good hints on upcoming features sometimes
- We made a little thing that will load PostTask up very quickly, then greys out the screen and you can watch all components load in the background. This significantly increases initial response time.
- We have made a ton of speed improvements, much of which will be exposed to the public in a blogpost on the debuggable.com soon.
Please ensure to email us your feedback to feedback at posttask dot com.
Best for the day,
Tim and Felix

Great news!
Tasklests are what PostTask was missing!
The new features are awesome.
I hadn’t tried them all extensively yet, the only thing I noticed is that Tasklets do not sort by name as Task do, and I would appreciate that to sub-sort stuff in my contexts.
Congratulations!

Hey Matias! Well you can sub-sort your tasklets in the various tasklets containers. Just drag them around. Or do you mean something else? ;]

By the way, we are currently thinking about having some sort of archive for tasks. So that completed tasks are hidden and pushed into an archive and upon click you can show them again. We are not decided about that yet. What do you think about that?

I think that a task archive like you described is a great idea.
